Clark had spent the past eight seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but did two seasons in Washington before he joined Pittsburgh.

Even though he’s now 34 years old, Clark is still a capable starter who should be an upgrade to the Redskins defense. In 2013, Clark had a career-high 104 tackles. He’s recorded at least 100 tackles the past three seasons.

Not only will Clark help out the team on Sundays, but he will also be leaned on to help mentor young safeties Bacarri Rambo and Phillip Thomas.

Last season, the Redskins had the 18th ranked defense in the NFL. They ranked 17th in stopping the run, and 20th in stopping the pass.

One of the biggest issues the team had last season was poor play in the secondary.
