The song is simply titled “Crimea” and the music video begins with an excerpt from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s defiant speech to the country’s political elite just days after the region voted to join Russia.

It then segues to the lawmaker, Andrei Ivantsov, stepping through a snowy forest and crooning about Crimea awaking from “a long cold winter.” He’s joined by a woman and, at times, another man for flowery lyrics about the region’s beauty.

This is just the latest song from Ivantsov, a local legislator in the southern city of Astrakhan, who posts them all on his YouTube page.
