Toyota Recall Impacting Local Dealers

(POCATELLO, ID) – Toyota has announced a voluntary recall on nearly 1.8 million vehicles in the U.S. Faulty electrical connections on the steering column could cause air bags to deactivate on some Corolla, Highlander, Matrix, Tacoma, and RAV4 models from 2006 to 2010. Area retailers say the Corolla and Highlander were among the top-selling vehicles in eastern Idaho during the years linked to the recall. No fatalities have been confirmed as a result of the defect. Executives say the company remains committed to improving safety and being a more customer-focused organization.
