Weekly Jobless Claims Rise to 326K Ahead of March Jobs Report

iStock/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — Jobless claims jumped during the last week of March, climbing to 326,000, the Labor Department reported Thursday morning.
For the week ending March 29, the number of people filing for benefits rose by 16,000. The previous week, claims stood at 310,000 — a downward revision of 1,000.
The four-week average also went up, increasing by 250 to 319,500.
Americans will see just how well the job market fared last month when the Labor Department releases its monthly employment report at 8:30 a.m. ET Friday.
