(NEW YORK) — Many Americans may be workaholics, but a new survey reveals a majority of us go on vacation every year, with some going away two or more times per year.
According to an online survey of 1,000 adults by FatWallet.com, an online coupon resource, 83 percent said they regularly go on vacations, and 60 percent go on vacation every year. Thirty percent say they go on two or more vacations per year.
Seventeen percent of those polled said they never go on vacations. The rate jumps to 21 percent for 40-somethings and 35 percent for those who earn less than $30,000 a year.
The survey also finds that 46 percent of Americans will spend more than $1,500 on their next vacation, while 13 percent will spend more than $3,000.
When it comes to planning, 48 percent book one to six months in advance, while 11 percent get their plans in place more than six months ahead. Fifteen percent wait less than one month and two percent wait until the last minute.
The respondents listed free WiFi, free breakfast buffet and free parking as the top three most important hotel amenities.
