(CHICAGO) — The Chicago White Sox placed third baseman Conor Gillaspie on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a left hand contusion. The move is retroactive to April 22.
The 26-year-old Gillaspie is batting .302 with 12 RBIs and eight runs scored in 16 games this season. In 179 career games with the White Sox and San Francisco Giants, he is hitting .249 with 14 home runs and 56 RBIs.
Chicago also added right-handed pitcher Hector Noesi to the active roster. The White Sox claimed the 27-year-old off of waivers from the Rangers on Friday, after he gave up 10 earned runs in five relief appearances this season between Texas and the Seattle Mariners.
