Deputies Watching Boaters During Holiday Weekend

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging boaters to observe all laws during the holiday weekend. Authorities tell KIDK that nearly half of all Americans can’t swim, resulting in an average of at least one drowning death for every county in the country. They believe many accidents on the water can likely be avoided by simply wearing life jackets. Deputies plan to put boat patrols along the Snake River to ensure the safety of those enjoying the warmer weather.
