Duffy Leads Royals Past Orioles, 1-0

Brian D. Kersey/Getty Images(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) -- Royals starting pitcher Danny Duffy (2-3) had a perfect game through 6 2-3 innings as Kansas City (21-21) shutdown the Baltimore Orioles (22-19), 1-0 on Saturday night.

Duffy retired the first 20 batters he faced before Orioles outfielder Adam Jones took a 1-0 pitch and single to centerfield. The left-hander finished the game, allowing two hits through seven scoreless innings.

Orioles starter Bud Norris (2-4) allowed the game’s only run, when Royals designated hitter Billy Butler singled home outfielder Nori Aoki in the first inning.

Royals reliever Greg Holland picked up his 11th save of the year when he got Orioles outfielder Nelson Cruz to strike out with the bases loaded.
