Elliott Sadler Wins the Aaron’s 312 at Talladega
(TALLADEGA, Ala.) --After a three-lap shootout to the checkered flag, Elliott Sadler won the Aaron's 312 on Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway.
Chris Buescher ran a close second, with Regan Smith, David Ragan, and Sam Hornish Jr. rounding out the top five.
The race was stopped for over nine minutes after a six-car accident that started when Jeffrey Clement was turning into an outside wall and his car shot back into traffic.
There were three laps remaining on the restart, and Sadler had to pull away from the pack in order to hang on for the win.
"Everybody always asks me about flipping at Talladega," Sadler said in Victory Lane. "Now we won one at Talladega, man, this feels a lot better."
It was the 10th Nationwide Series victory for Sadler, and his first since 2012.
NASCAR Nationwide Series action shifts to Iowa Speedway on Sunday, May 18.
