Extreme Weather: Severe Storms Pummel Eastern Half of US
(NEW YORK) -- Tens of millions of Americans remain in harm's way as a powerful storm system lurches across the Midwest and South. There has been more than 70 storm reports, with the storm already spawning a number of tornadoes.
One menacing tornado in Minnesota, along with six others reported from Missouri to Colorado, tore through the plains. Severe storms mowed down power lines and roofs as far as Texas.
Up to five inches of rain has fallen already just outside of Dallas, forcing an emotional rescue. Crews had to pull five boys out of a swollen and raging creek.
