Grizzlies’ Randolph Suspended for Decisive Game 7
(NEW YORK) -- Memphis forward Zach Randolph has been suspended for the Grizzlies' Game 7 meeting with Oklahoma City on Saturday. The punishment handed down by the NBA on Friday comes after Randolph punched Thunder center Steven Adams in the jaw during Game 6.
The incident came with under seven minutes remaining in Oklahoma City's 104-84 victory on Thursday. While heading back on defense, Randolph elbowed Adams in the midsection before again striking him in the face with his right hand.
The 6'9" forward is pacing the Grizzlies scoring 18.2 points per game this postseason. In 18 career playoff games against the Thunder, Randolph is averaging 20.1 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest with 11 double-doubles.
Game 7 is set to begin at 8 p.m. in Oklahoma City on Saturday night. The winner will advance into the second round while the loser will have their season come to an end.
