MERS Patients Released from Hospital
(MUNSTER, Ind.) -- The patient who contracted the United States' first case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome has been released from an Indiana hospital Friday.
The unnamed patient is considered "fully recovered," has been cleared of isolation and can even travel, according to the chief medical information officer at Community Hospital.
The patient was admitted to the hospital with MERS on April 28 after returning to the U.S. from Saudi Arabia. Health officials have also been testing people who came in contact with the patient upon returning to the U.S., though the hospital says they've found no further cases of the potentially deadly illness.
