NFL Star Eric Decker Talks Fatherhood: Vivianne ‘Melted My Heart’
(NEW YORK) -- For NFL star Eric Decker, there's nothing more important in his life that his wife Jessie James and his daughter Vivianne Rose. So much so, that the New York Jets player has really put in work since his daughter was born on March 18.
"I feel like I've done a pretty good job. In the middle of the night, I'll feed the baby, I'll change the diapers, put her back to bed, and let my wife sleep a little bit," the reality star of Eric & Jessie: Game On told ABC News. "I took a daddy's boot camp before the birth. I want to be hands-on. I want to get in there, change the diapers, feed, burp, pick out the outfits, everything."
Decker, 27, said his wife is back in Nashville, while he adjusts and gets settled in New Jersey.
Decker is missing his little girl on the 4 to 5 days a week he's on the East Coast away from his family, even though while he's in New Jersey, he finally gets to sleep through the night.
"Just last week before I left, she [Vivianne] gave me a smile at night and I tell you, just melted my heart," he said. "Talk about being wrapped around a finger, I am definitely with her."
Decker said it's been fun filming the reality show on E! with James, but that his new little bundle won't be a part of showbiz anytime soon.
"We plan on keeping her away from it," he said. "Right now, we are just kind of focused on our baby and careers and we haven't decided what we are going to do, but we are definitely not going to have her on the show."
Decker spoke to ABC News while promoting a new campaign with Ruffles, called #RoughLife, where the company wants fans to share their "not so rough" #RoughLife moments for a chance to win NFL-related prizes up to the NFL Draft on May 8.
"It's celebrating those ridiculous moments, those problems that aren't really problems," he said.
