Red Bull Resume Clippers Sponsorship
(NEW YORK) – Major companies cut ties with the Los Angeles Clippers following controversial remarks made by owner Donald Sterling, but the basketball team is starting to win some sponsor back.
Red Bull will resume its partnership with the Clippers, according to USA Today, pending the team holds up an agreement to donate 50 percent of the profits generated during the rest of the post-season to charity. All related team profits will also go toward basketball operations, the newspaper reported.
Organizations such as Virgin America and Kia announced their break in sponsorship and advertising from the Clippers last week, while other companies like Samsung and Adidas returned their support for the team.
Sterling received a lifetime ban from the NBA for racist and offensive comments.
