Red Sox Place Victorino on DL
(ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.) -- Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a strained right hamstring.
The 33-year-old Victorino injured the hamstring after running out a bunt in the ninth inning Friday night.
Victorino has already missed 22 games this season due to the hamstring, which was injured in the team's last spring training game.
The 11-season major league veteran has played in 21 games for the Red Sox this season hitting .242 with one home run, 10 runs scored and 10 RBIs.
Boston recalled outfielder Daniel Nava from Triple-A Pawtucket to take Victorino's place.
Nava started the season in Boston but hit .149 in 17 games before being demoted.
