Cities Vying for Crisis Center

(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – Idaho Falls could be the home to a new state-sponsored behavioral-health crisis center. Sam Hulse with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office says the state is considering alternative locations in Boise and Coeur d’Alene. Officials say it would help those who are mentally ill, who might otherwise end up in jail or in a psychiatric ward. The state legislature considered setting aside funds for facilities in all three locations, but budget constraints have limited the state to select only one city.
