ESPN: Altidore Will Undergo Re-Evaluation Tuesday on Hamstring
(NATAL, Brazil) -- U.S. striker Jozy Altidore will be re-evaluated Tuesday in Sao Paulo at the team's training headquarters for a hamstring injury that he suffered during the Americans' 2-1 World Cup opening win over Ghana on Monday.
Altidore was chasing a ball down the left wing in the 21st minute of the game when he pulled up lame holding his left hamstring. He was carried off the field in a stretcher. "It was a little bit of a shock that Jozy got injured," U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said. "It was a tough pill to swallow."
Altidore has scored 12 goals this season split between the United States national team and Sunderland of the English Premier League.
