Families of MH370 Passengers Start Crowdfunding Campaign to Solve Mystery
(NEW YORK) -- A group that includes family members of a number of passengers on Malaysia Airlines flight 370 have started a campaign on Indiegogo.com to raise $5 million in an effort to help find out what happened to the missing plane.
It's now been three months since the flight between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing went missing with 239 passengers and crew on board. An international search of large swaths of ocean on either side of the Malay Peninsula turned up no evidence of the Boeing 777.
The campaign aims to raise $5 million with the intent to provide a reward and private investigation skills to follow up on leads.
In a press release, Ethan Hunt, the Project Leader, called the mystery of the missing plane "unprecedented in the history of aviation," as he called for people to "work as a collective community with one goal of finding the truth, the plane and the passengers. The campaign launched at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
