Jim Rogers Dies at 75
(POCATELLO, ID) – One of the region’s most recognized philanthropists has died. Businessman Jim Rogers, who oversaw 14 television news stations including KPVI in Pocatello, died at his home in Las Vegas on Saturday at the age of 75. Family members say Rogers had been battling bone cancer. Rogers served as chancellor of Nevada’s higher education system pro bono from 2005 to 2009. He was also the namesake of the James R. Rogers Department of Communication, Media, and Persuasion at Idaho State University.
