Jozy Altidore Out Against Germany

Michael Steele/Getty Images(SAO PAULO) -- United States forward Jozy Altidore will miss his second straight game in the World Cup with a left hamstring injury.

Altidore will be out for the final game of round one against Germany on Thursday.

"Jozy is recovering really well," U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said. "He's doing a tremendous job. Our medical staff is on top of it. This game [against Germany] comes still too early for him, but we're working on him."

"We're getting him back in this tournament, as we said. So once this game is done -- hopefully successfully -- we'll have a good chance to have him back then in the team," he continued.

Altidore was injured during the first half of the U.S.' 2-1 victory over Ghana in their first game of the tournament.

Germany is ahead of the U.S. in Group G by goal differential.

The U.S. can still advance with a draw or a win, or with a draw between Portugal and Ghana.
