Lincecum No-Hits Padres Again
(SAN FRANCISCO) -- For the second time in less than a year, Tim Lincecum has tossed a no-hitter against the San Diego Padres. He shut down the Padres in leading the San Francisco Giants to a 4-0 win Wednesday.
Lincecum threw 113 pitches, allowing only one walk and striking out six, as he becomes just the second pitcher in MLB history to no-hit the same team twice.
The 30-year-old Lincecum got Will Venable to ground out to second base to end the game and secure the 16th no-hitter in Giants' franchise history.
The Padres have now been no-hit three times in the last five years by the Giants. The other time came in July 2009, when Jonathan Sanchez did it.
Lincecum joins Homer Bailey, Justin Verlander and Mark Buehrle as the only active pitchers with multiple no-hitters.
