(IDAHO FALLS, ID) — The Idaho Falls Zoo announced the birth of two female snow leopards on Thursday.  The cubs were born May 7.  In a release, the Zoo indicated the significance of the birth pointing out that snow leopards are endangered in the wild, with only four to six thousand remaining.

The cubs will not be ready for public viewing for another four weeks.  Once that happens, a naming contest will be held with the public voting on potential names.  All proceeds from the contest will go towards snow leopard preservation in the wild.
