(POCATELLO, ID) – Freeway speed limits are about to go up around southeast Idaho.  Most rural sections of I-15, I-84, and I-86 will go up to 80 miles per hour. Truck speed limits will increase to 70 miles per hour. Reduced speed limits will remain the same through Pocatello and Idaho Falls. The new law, which passed with a majority vote in the 2014 state legislature, will stay in effect as long as it’s deemed to be in the public’s best interests. Similar measures have been taken along I-15 in northern Utah.
