“The Fault in Our Stars” Tops Box Office

20th Century Fox(NEW YORK) -- The Fault in Our Stars, the film adaptation of John Green's best-selling novel of the same name opened atop the box office this weekend, beating out Disney's Maleficent and Tom Cruise's new blockbuster Edge of Tomorrow.

Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort star in the Josh Boone-directed film alongside Laura Dern.

The Fault in our Stars brought in an estimated $48.2 million to win the weekend. Maleficent, last week's box office winner, slipped to second, with Cruise's film finishing its opening weekend in a disappointing third.
