Wall Street Drops from Record Highs, Gas Prices on the Rise
(NEW YORK) -- Stocks slipped slightly on Monday, with the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling after finishing last week at record highs.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished Monday down 9.82 to 16,937.26.
The Nasdaq gained 0.64 to a close of 4,368.68, while the S&P 500 dipped to 1,962.61, losing 0.26.
The U.S. Energy Department released its report on gas prices on Monday, noting that the average price of regular unleaded gasoline is up two cents from their last report. The average gallon of gas in the country costs $3.70.
