(IDAHO FALLS, ID) —  The fans just kept coming, and so did the runs.  The Chukars treated the Melaleuca Field crowd of 3,500 to a 14-3 drubbing of the Mustangs Thursday night.
Billings struck first, building a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.  Idaho Falls (17-13) didn’t take long to respond, scoring four runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning.  Four more runs came in the fourth frame with Brandon Downes, Luis Valenzuela, Ryan O’Hearn, and Wander Franco all knocked in a run each.  Chukars led 8-3 by the end of the inning.

Torey Deshazier (3-0) came in to the game in the fourth and held Billings scoreless in five inning to pick up the win for the Chukars.  He struck out seven Mustangs along the way.  Brawlun Gomez added a home run in the eighth inning to increase the lead to 14-3.

The Chukars have won nine straight against the Mustangs, dating back to 2013. Idaho Falls looks for the season sweep against Billings Friday.
