Colts Release RB Chris Rainey
Published at(ANDERSON, Ind.) — The Indianapolis Colts released running back Chris Rainey on Monday for a violation of an undisclosed team rule.
Head coach Chuck Pagano made the announcement at training camp and would not provide any details for the reason Rainey was released.
“It’s unfortunate and [a] violation of team rules,” Pagano said. “It was an in-house deal, that’s all I’m going to say about that.”
Rainey has a history of off-field issues and was arrested back in January 2013 after being charged with one count of simple battery with a woman.
The Colts signed Rainey last season and he played in two games before going on the injured reserve list.
