Dems Want to Ban Wolf Hunts Near Yellowstone

(WEST YELLOWSTONE, MT) – A House Democrat wants to ban wolf hunting near Yellowstone National Park. U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon is the ranking Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee. DeFazio is heeding the call of multiple far-left lobbying groups from outside the Intermountain West, who believe hunting wolves in Island Park and the Beartooth Mountains of Wyoming will harm Yellowstone’s fragile ecosystem. Wolves were reintroduced into the park in 1995, and have been directly linked to dramatic reductions in elk and deer populations throughout Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.
