Believe it or not, most workers in Britain say they would forgo a significant bump in salary if it meant working somewhere they couldn’t stand.

When the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) asked 2,000 people if they’d take a large pay increase to work in a lousy environment, 80 percent said they wouldn’t.

Although pay is obviously important, most workers in the survey said responsibility, recognition and relationships with co-workers were higher priorities.

As for why they continue to work where they work, the respondents listed in order: getting along with co-workers, enjoying their role on the job and having a good relationship with supervisors.
