Honda’s Air Bag Recall Gets Bigger
Published at(NEW YORK) — Honda is expanding its recall over defective air bags.
The Japanese automaker has already recalled two million vehicles in several states and now, it’s recalling another million in California for problems with the mechanism that inflates the air bag.
The propellant inside the inflator is too powerful and could cause the part to explode, sending metal shards that can cause injuries to drivers and passengers.
The part, made by Takata Corporation, is used by other automakers, which have also been forced to recall vehicles.
Besides California, Honda is recalling vehicles in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas.
