Guilty plea for man who transported underage daughter out-of-state to marry 24 year old man

ASHTON — A Fremont County father has pleaded guilty to felony injury to a child, after he took his 14-year-old daughter and a then 24-year-old man to be married in Missouri.

As part of a plea agreement the state dismissed two charges, leaving Keith Strawn to plead guilty to one felony injury to a child charge. Originally Strawn faced two felony injury to a child charges and one felony charge of accessory to rape. Court records show he allegedly “harbored and protected” his daughter’s abuser by allowing him to live with his teenage daughter.

His former son-in-law, Aaron Seaton, 25, was recently sentenced to to prison following a guilty plea of rape of Strawn’s daughter.

In a criminal complaint filed in Fremont County court, the 24-year-old, Seaton of Ashton, was charged with raping the girl around June 17 and later allegedly impregnated her.

Court documents show two months later, around Aug. 15, the teenage girl’s father, Keith Strawn, took her across state lines to marry Seaton. Local law enforcement tells EastIdahoNews.com they went to Missouri. When they returned to Idaho, court documents allege Strawn allowed his daughter to cohabitate with Seaton.

Court documents say the girl had a miscarriage in October and is no longer legally married to Seaton.

Strawn is due back in court for sentencing on May 24.
