Jane Lynch Says She Wants “Glee” Alum to Return in Final Season

Danielle Levitt/FOX(NEW YORK) — Jane Lynch has entertained TV watchers for years as the sharp-witted Sue Sylvester in Fox’s hit musical series, Glee. And now that the show is coming up on its sixth and final season, the actress tells ABC News Radio that she’s ready to let go.

“I don’t know that it’ll ever bring closure, this last season of Glee. I think I don’t necessarily need that so much,” she said at a recent luncheon in New York City hosted by Febreze, where Lynch shed light on noseblindness.

Still, Lynch added she hopes several Glee alum return for the series’ final season. “I think it’ll be nice if we can get a lot of the people back that made this show magic. It was really a magic in those first few years,” she explained.

Lynch will most likely get her way. Creator Ryan Murphy said earlier this year he’s inviting all past characters back to the series for its final season.

But what will happen to Lynch’s Sylvester? “Well, I’ll be the principal again I believe,” the actress revealed. “So I think she might be a little more supportive perhaps of the glee club, which actually right now is defunct. But I’m assuming it’ll come back. It can! We don’t have Glee without the glee club.”

“So I think any time we have an opportunity to see what Sue cares about and how something affects her heart is always a good thing,” Lynch continued.

Fox has yet to announce when the final season of Glee will premiere. The network recently chopped the season to 13 episodes, down from an original order of 22 episodes, Deadline.com reports.

While Lynch isn’t filming Glee, she’s the host of NBC’s Hollywood Game Night, which returned last Thursday night. It’s a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination this year. She was also nominated in the Outstanding Narrator category for her work on Discovery’s Penguins: Waddle All The Way.

When asked if she had a chance of scoring another Emmy nomination, before the nods were announced, Lynch told ABC News Radio, “I don’t expect to be nominated. I don’t expect not to be nominated. It’s one of those things that you just go, ‘Oh, that’s nice!’ I’ll be happy for those who are.”
