Judge Rules Against CNN in Bergdahl Disclosure Case

(HAILEY, ID) — The Blaine County District Court has ruled against CNN on a public records request. CNN wanted access to all Blaine County records involving the family of former Afghan POW Bowe Bergdahl. County officials provided limited access, but declined a request to view a controversial 15-year-old report. Judge Robert Elgee ruled that CNN did not provide a justifiable reason to access the private records of the Bergdahl family. Sheriff Gene Ramsey says he’s happy that the court is keeping the privacy of Blaine County citizens a top priority.
