Michael Strahan Says Life with Fiancee Nicole Murphy Is “Great”

(NEW YORK) — Michael Strahan rarely talks about his fiancee, Nicole Murphy, but in the new issue of Ebony magazine, he says Nicole is perfect for him, because she’s a family woman.
“It’s great. As a divorced man, you just want somebody around your kids who’s respectful and will treat them like her own. When you understand that, there’s never any issue,” the Live with Kelly and Michael host tells Ebony in its August issue. “We laugh and are at graduations and birthday parties, you know…all that stuff.”
Nicole Murphy is the ex-wife of actor and comic Eddie Murphy, something Strahan says causes no issues at all.
“If I see Eddie, it’s, ‘What’s up?’ There is no animosity or jealousy,” Strahan says. “At the end of the day, a woman is a woman and a man is a man. Our relationship is all that matters.”
Strahan and Murphy, who have been engaged since 2009, have nine kids between them, but Michael says he loves the chaos his large blended family brings.
“I love the kids and the family,” he explained. “For us, it’s key that we maintain normalcy. We have a great life. People can buy into their own celebrity, and that’s a dangerous thing.”
