NYC Mayor to Get Honorary Citizenship in Italian Town
Published at(NEW YORK) — New York City’s Mayor Bill de Blasio will soon be a citizen of a small town in Italy.
The mayor is taking a nine-day holiday in Italy next week, during which he’ll visit Grassano, a town in southern Italy, where he will be granted honorary citizenship.
De Blasio’s grandmother was reportedly born in Grassano before immigrating to the United States.
