Pocatello Changes School Lunch Rules

(POCATELLO, ID) – The Pocatello School District is changing the way it handles overdue lunch tabs. Administrators are capping the overdue limit at $11, giving parents a week to pay past due bills. All owed funds will accumulate on each student’s record, and they won’t receive their high school diploma until the lunch money is paid. They say overdue bills have gotten out of hand, and more than $17,000 is still owed from last year alone. Those unable to pay lunch debts are encouraged to sign up for free or reduced lunch prices at the District 25 office.
