Police Investigating Motive Behind Pasadena Shooting
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — Three people were killed and two injured on Saturday after a shooting in a Los Angeles suburb that was followed by a standoff between police and the suspect.
Police say that there is “some evidence to suggest” that the incident involved a landlord-tenant relationship. The suspect, a 35-year-old man, allegedly barricaded himself in a Pasadena, California home before being convinced to surrender by a police dispatcher.
Pasadena Police Lt. Ed Calatayud said that the suspect shot and killed a woman inside of her home before firing upon pedestrians in the immediate area. The two victims who were wounded suffered “non-life-threatening” injuries.
The Los Angeles Times reports that neighbors heard the first gunshots shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. An investigation into the suspects motive remains ongoing.
