Those same sources also say the delay in signing Wiggins has nothing to do with the apparent trade talks.

Instead, the Cavs have been reportedly weighing how to use the remaining $1.4 million available to them after signing the Kansas forward. Wiggins’ contract will net him in the neighborhood of a reported $5.5 million as a rookie. Once signed, Cleveland must wait at least 30 days before they can trade him.

After the Cavs sign Wiggins, they are expected to ink Mike Miller to a two-year $5.6 million deal.

Cleveland has also been rumored to have interest in Ray Allen, a teammate with Miller in Miami. However, the Cavaliers would only be able to give Allen the league minimum of $1.4 million.

All of these front office moves have been to try and build the best possible team around returning forward LeBron James.
