(REXBURG, ID) – Several Rexburg homes and businesses were flooded during heavy rains Tuesday evening.
Police say nearly two inches of rain fell on the city, with extensive flood damage reported along Main Street and Pioneer Road. A natural floodplain cuts diagonally through the city, and dozens of basement apartments adjacent to the BYU-Idaho campus were filled with up to five feet of water in some places. Temporary shelter and food supplies were also being made available at the BYU-Idaho Center.
