Tinder Co-Founder Files Sexual Harassment Suit Against Company

iStockphoto/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — A co-founder of the company that created the dating app Tinder filed suit against the company earlier this week, accusing the founders of the company of sexually harassment and sex discrimination.
Tinder, an app which allows users to select potential “matches” from a selection of users geographically nearby, became astonishingly popular earlier this year, with millions of “matches” made and users logging in daily to “swipe” or message each other.
Whitney Wolfe, one of the co-founders of Tinder, said in a complaint filed earlier this week that other Tinder executives called her a “whore” and removed her title as co-founder because having a young female as a co-founder “makes the company seem like a joke” and “devalues” the company. Additionally, Wolfe accused Tinder’s CEO and CMO of subjecting her to sexist, racist and inappropriate comments, emails and text messages.
Wolfe and the Tinder CMO, Justin Mateen, had been in a romantic relationship, the complaint said, and many of the instances of sexual harassment and discrimination took place after she and Mateen broke up.
