White House Placed on Lockdown Due to Unattended Package

iStock/Thinkstock(WASHINGTON) — The White House was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon as a result of an unattended package left by the North Lawn.
The item, placed by the fence line of the North Lawn, closed down both Lafayette Park and Pennsylvania Avenue shortly before 4 p.m.
Officials provided no further details on the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
