Springer has been out of action since July 19, but was set to return shortly. After an MRI was performed on Springer’s balky left quadriceps, doctors recommended additional time to aid in its recovery. Now, his next appearance may not come until September.

After a tough start to his rookie campaign, the 24-year-old Springer emerged as one of the best power hitters in baseball before getting hurt. In a span of 59 games, Springer hit 20 home runs and was carrying the Astros offense. Overall, Springer is hitting .231 this season with 20 home runs, 50 RBIs, and an OBP of .336.

This has been another rough season for the Astros, as they sit at 50-70, which is the third-worst record in Major League Baseball.
