According to the CDC, the staff member will rotate back to the United States as scheduled and will be monitored for 21 days following contact with an international health worker who tested positive for the disease. The staff member worked in close proximity with the international health worker, but is believed to be at low risk of infection.

The staffer will travel by private means for 21 days as part of the CDC’s interim guidance for dealing with those potentially exposed to Ebola. The individual does not show signs of the disease, and has not been determined to have contracted the disease. While the individual remains under observation, there is no Ebola risk to friends, family, co-workers or the public.
