Earlier this season, Uggla was released by the Atlanta Braves after failing to be a productive player over the past two seasons.

In 48 games this season with Atlanta, Uggla hit .162 with two home runs and 10 RBIs. This coming off a 2013 season where he hit .179 to go along with 22 home runs.

In an effort to rejuvenate his career, Uggla signed with the Giants. His stint with the Giants didn’t go much better, as he went 0-for-11 with six strikeouts and two errors in four games.

Over his last 503 games, Uggla is hitting just .208.

Earlier in his career, Ugglas was one of the best slugging second baseman in the game. From 2007-2011 he hit over 30 home runs while with the Florida Marlins and Braves.
