(IDAHO FALLS, ID) – El Nino will impact farming conditions around eastern Idaho next spring.

The National Weather Service reports that it will likely reduce the snowpack in higher elevations, meaning that more water will be stored in Jackson and Palisades over the winter, then moved downriver to fill American Falls next summer.

Experts tell Local News 8 that El Nino has caused eastern Idaho’s snowpack to be below normal during 12 of the last 17 recorded episodes.
