The Iron Dome intercepted at least one Hamas-launched missile on Saturday morning with numerous rockets and mortars being fired by Hamas into Israel. Meanwhile, Palestinians say dozens have been killed in the latest Israeli ground attacks and air strikes, especially in the area where the search for a captured Israeli soldier is ongoing.

After Hamas apparently captured an Israeli soldier on Friday, Israel cancelled plans to send negotiators to Cairo for cease-fire talks. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that his country will not discuss a truce, adding that Hamas cannot be trusted. The Israeli Prime Minister stopped short of expanding Israel’s military operation, though, sticking largely to the destruction of cross-border attack tunnels.

In the fighting, over 1,650 Palestinians have been killed and more than 8,900 wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The Israel Defense Forces say over 60 Israelis have been killed.
