The 16-year veteran will now join the San Antonio Spurs as the first full-time woman assistant coach.

The Stars opened the game on a 7-0 run and eventually led 22-4 before the Lynx turned things around. Lindsay Whalen scored 31 points, a career high in the playoffs, while Seimone Augustus added 21.

Hammon had 12 points and four assists in the final game of her career and received a standing ovation from the crowd and players as time ran out.

“I just congratulated her and said that I love her,” Augustus said. “Thank you for everything you did for women and sports.”

The defending champion Lynx advanced to the Western Conference finals where they will face either Phoenix or Los Angeles.
