Heroin Use Up in Eastern Idaho

(POCATELLO, ID) – Heroin use is on the rise in eastern Idaho. Pocatello Police tell KIDK that the drug is now more affordable and available than harder drugs like methamphetamine and cocaine.
Just last week, two men were stopped along I-15 and were caught with heroin and other drug paraphernalia.
Experts say heroin is a cheaper alternative to prescription painkillers, making it particularly popular in low-income communities.
