Student Spending In Idaho

BOISE, Idaho (AP) – Idaho education officials have approved a policy to protect the personal information of public school students.

The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/1nWe1qZ) in a story on Friday that the policy approved by the Idaho State Board of Education involves collecting and sharing student information.

The move follows concerns over a plan to develop a statewide student database.

Critics of Idaho Core Standards say they’re concerned government agencies might get the information.

The policy says aggregate information on students can be released but it must not be possible to identify individual students.
