Idaho Falls City Council Approves Preliminary Budget

(IDAHO FALLS, ID)  – The Idaho Falls City Council tentatively approved a budget for 2015 that calls for $43 million in spending from the general fund and a 1.5% increase in property taxes.

The lone dissenting vote came from Councilwoman Sharon Parry, who told the Post Register  that she was disappointed that the public was not allowed to comment at the meeting Thursday.

Mayor Rebecca Casper said it was too soon for that.  The public will have the chance to comment on the proposed budget on August 28.
